Artisan Rug Engineering by Sahani
ARES manufactures rugs for the world's most demanding design houses. From raw fibre to finished rug, every stage of production, sourcing, spinning, dyeing, weaving, washing, finishing is owned entirely in-house.
Legacy of Excellence
Our Heritage
Thirty-five years ago, Ranbir Sahani set out to build something the industry had not seen, a manufacturing operation that would produce the finest rugs in the world, entirely on its own terms. Born in Isfahan, fluent in Farsi, he carries a native understanding of this craft that the industry's best clients recognise immediately. The rug as an art form originated in this culture. So did his eye for it.

What followed was decades of research, experimentation, and an obsessive refinement of process. ARES is the result. Over the decades it has grown into a premier luxury textile manufacturer, working with some of the most demanding design houses in the world, without once changing the values that built it. Every rug reflects a deep respect for traditional weaving techniques and an equally relentless pursuit of what those techniques can become.

Vision & Values
Confidentiality
A design made for one client is never duplicated for another, it is simply how we work, and the reputation we have built this business on.
Integrity
We do not work with competing retailers. Every relationship we have is built on the understanding that your trust is not transferable.
Sustainability
Natural fibres and plant-based dyes sourced from from farmers in India, Iran, and Nepal. Our energy and water needs are met largely by in-house solar infrastructure and rainwater harvesting.
People
We are one of the largest employers of female craftspeople and administrators in the region. The people who make these rugs have been with us for years, some for decades.
